CREATING QUIET LUXURY IN A CONTEMPORARY CITY APARTMENT

Having previously worked with our client on his own home, we were delighted to be invited to design this luxury holiday apartment at Hudson Quarter,  a striking contemporary development in the heart of York. The brief was to create a calm, comfortable space that felt like a boutique retreat, with the ease and practicality of home while subtly elevating the apartment’s desirability and success as a luxury holiday stay.

Inspired by the rusted steel architectural features, and lush green planting in the courtyard garden, we developed an earthy, grounded palette that complements the apartment’s natural light and contemporary lines. With generous windows framing the space, we focused on natural materials, gentle contrasts, and layered textures to create a feeling of quiet sophistication.

Every room was curated to elevate the guest experience, from handmade beds and blissfully comfortable bespoke mattresses to furnishings that are as durable as they are elegant. The result is a space that feels welcoming, considered, and quietly luxurious, ideal for both weekend stays and longer retreats in the city.
